Each Saturday, students learn Portuguese, connect with peers, build friendships, and stay connected to their culture. Our small classes ensure individual attention and consistent progress.
Throughout the year, students take part in cultural events and enrichment activities that go beyond the textbook. They don't just learn a language here. They grow up in a community that values where they come from.
"My two daughters have studied in Escola Portuguesa de Cambridge e Somerville since each of them was in Kindergarten, and they love it! With a mixed language family — American father and Portuguese mother — it's not always easy to keep the second language alive in the home, and the school helps us with that goal. My oldest daughter, now in her fourth year of attendance, has learned to value all the acquired knowledge, while the youngest one (still in first grade) values the joy and care that the teachers always bring to class. As a parent, I am really thankful for the kindness, dedication and persistence of the entire school community, and I truly value being part of it."
