"My two daughters have studied in Escola Portuguesa de Cambridge e Somerville since each of them was in Kindergarten, and they love it! With a mixed language family—American father and Portuguese mother—it's not always easy to keep the second language alive in the home, and the school helps us with that goal. My oldest daughter, now in her fourth year of attendance, has learned to value all the acquired knowledge, while the youngest one (still in first grade) values the joy and care that the teachers always bring to class. As a parent, I am really thankful for the kindness, dedication and persistence of the entire school community, and I truly value being part of it."

"I grew up going to Portuguese School in the DC area and unfortunately our school closed after the pandemic. I am very grateful to have found this school through the recommendation of our local Portuguese Consulate. Doing Portuguese Classes for my kids via Zoom has been great. While I was at first hesitant to do virtual classes, I realized my kids work with laptops at school often and they have really taken to the virtual format. While I would prefer in-person classes, where we live that just was not feasible. These virtual classes have been a great help and my kids have learned more in one year with the teachers than I was ever able to teach them on my own. I am thankful for the teachers and the parent community of the school."
