The Escola Portuguesa de Cambridge e Somerville's (EPCS) role is to ensure the long-term future and health of the school through strategic planning, governance, and oversight. The responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the school is managed by the school director and the school's faculty and staff.

The Board Standing Committees - Finance, Fundraising, Governance, and Head of School Support - help the Board accomplish its work. Task Forces are set up to address specific projects and are active until their completion.
